Actiferm Effective Micro-Organisms
EM ® Actiferm is a stabilised environment of over 80 naturally occurring microbes: fungi, yeast, lactic-acid-bacteria, Phototropic Bacteria and actinomycetes. These microbes promote a natural balance and biodiversity in their applied environment.
By using Actiferm throughout your farm you can develop an environment enabling you to reduce chemical inputs, while improving animal health and soil fertility, and ultimately drive your farm’s performance.
Actiferm can be used in so many ways; this product should be in every farmer’s tool kit:
- Spray onto crop / forage or direct to soil
- Spray onto bedding material
- Add to slurry
- Add to Farm Yard Manure (FYM)
- Clean and disinfectant housing & even wounds
- Use as a teat dip
- Use a footbath solution
Available to order in: 2L / 20L / 250L and 1000L containers
Soil Application Benefits:
- Improves soil health, biodiversity and ultimately soil fertility
- Contains Nitrogen fixing microbes
- Improves Carbon sequestration
- Ferments organic matter retaining nutrients in the soil
- Microbes which aid in plant development and disease prevention, due to an increase in soil fungus microbes: Trichoderma & Penicillin
Application: 20L per Ha. Apply 3-4 times per year
Bedding Application Benefits:
- Improved hygiene, reducing disease/virus pressure
- Reduces odour & flies
- Opens straw structure making it more absorbent
- Helps prevent issues like pneumonia, watery mouth and mastitis.
- Effective prevention & treatment of ringworm
Application: 1L Actiferm to 20L water
Slurry Tank Application Benefits:
- Slurry manure ‘ripens’ instead of ‘rotting’
- Reduces the release of Methane, CO2 & Nitrous Oxide gas
- Retains more Nitrogen & Ammonia nutrients
- Significantly reduces crust & odour
- Adding little and often keeps microbes multiplying in quantity
- Use with ‘N-Hance’ for further effect – see EM Slurry product here
FYM Application Benefits:
- Increases greatly the number of positive fermentative microbes
- Retains more Nitrogen & Carbon
- Enables faster decomposition of FYM
- See ‘Bokashi’ product for an alternative rapid FYM fermentation process
- Application: little and often, if used on bedding, no additional required on FYM
