Rumen buffers are used to prevent acid loading caused by high-energy diets. By preventing acid loading you improve rumen function as well as feed efficiency.
Ostrea’s unique physical and chemical characteristics make it an ideal rumen buffer. It has a large surface area, thanks to its complex honeycomb structure, that helps sustain a more consistent rumen pH. Ostrea is capable of binding two hydrogen molecules, which gives it twice the binding capacity of sodium bicarbonate, but will never over buffer.
As it's completely soluble, once absorbed it provides an excellent source of calcium.
KEY FEATURES:
Available in: 25kg and 1000kg bags
Feed Rate: 50-100g per cow / per day
